Summer School for Singers, Conductors and Vocal Leaders, 2021
07 Aug 2021 – 15 Aug 2021, Cambridge
There’s something for every kind of choral enthusiast at Summer School, which takes place at a new venue for 2021 – Jesus College, Cambridge.
In addition to choral conducting courses catering for all ability levels (Foundation, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2 and Advanced), we’ll be offering a week-long course for singers; the first part, ‘On Broadway’, explores classic show tunes along with more modern musical numbers, with participants continuing the week with their choice from our part-week choral courses. These three courses, which start on Thursday 12 August and can also be booked on a stand-alone basis, are:
- The Consort Course, led by Sarah Tenant-Flowers, for more experienced singers and good sight readers who enjoy challenging repertoire and singing in a small ensemble.
- Sing with Joy, led by community choir expert and composer, Stuart Overington, is for anyone wanting to explore uplifting, gospel-inspired music.
- Alternatively, if you’d prefer to sing a popular contemporary classic, choral specialist Suzzie Vango will lead you through highlights of The Armed Man by Karl Jenkins.
A varied timetable of social events will run in the evenings, with appropriate Covid-secure measures in place. For full details including course fees and to book online, please visit the event listing via the link provided.
