Peer-to-Peer Training

The European Choral Association offers financial support for setting up international peer-to-peer trainings and learning opportunities in the field of collective singing.

This programme offers participants the chance to spend some days learning from each other, sharing experiences, enlarging their networks and getting an insight into a foreign (work) culture. Eligible peer-to-peer training projects may include learning opportunities for conductors, choirs, staff of choral organisations, board or youth committee members, etc.

At least one of the parties must be either a representative of a member organisation, or an indirect member of the European Choral Association (a member of a member organisation or a member of the Friends of the European Choral Association) or be based in one of the target countries of our regional development strategy (for more, see Who can participate?)

Important:

The European Choral Association cannot organise the peer-to-peer trainings or search for people to invite or for hosts. If you are interested in partners from a specific country you can contact our member organisations which you will find on our website under About Us -> Who we are.

Find the inspiring stories of previous participants at the bottom of this page!

What are the benefits of a peer-to-peer training?

For individuals:

share&learn. The person that you are sending or that you will host will bring a lot of new ideas with them about project and office management that might help the further development of your own organisation.

motivate. Travelling and getting an insight into other working structures is always a great personal experience. The person you send will come back with a lot of new inspiration.

For organisations or choirs:

reach out. Make known the work of your organisation or choir to the host and in its city, region and country. Use the opportunity to present as many of your activities as possible.

join forces. The host organisation or choir might have a similar political agenda to yours. Why not create a joint action? Your host might have different contacts on the political and cultural level, which may be useful to you.

cooperate. You are developing a cooperation project and looking for partners? This is the perfect opportunity to get to seek partners for your activities. Are you organising an event with another choral organisation. This might be the occasion to visit each other offices and work off-line for a week. Think also about inspiring events and activities that our members are organising, you could use this opportunity to observe the preparatory work or get involved during the event!

Who can participate?

  • Choral or conductors’ organisations that are willing to host a person from another organisation

  • The person travelling on the exchange is entitled to reimbursement of travel and accommodation expenses, not the hosting partner.
