Become Host of Leading Voices in 2028!
After two successful editions of Leading Voices (Utrecht 2022 and Tallinn 2025), the board of the European Choral Association is looking for a host for the 2028 Leading Voices event.
Leading Voices is an event for those who play a leading role in the sector of collective singing and in the choral world: conductors/vocal leaders, composers/arrangers, managers, music educators and students. The spirit of this event should be to bring hundreds of participants from different target groups together and break down walls between styles and genres, to include different art forms and offer innovative inspiring lectures, workshops and performances.
Leading Voices is a kind of conference / congress that can, but does not have to be connected to a local, national or international choral/vocal festival. The ideal length of the event is 3 full days (5 days with arrival and departure day).
The event should offer educational formats for conductors/vocal leaders, composers / arrangers, managers, music educators, possibly vocal teachers and students in any of these fields. There should be different formats: masterclasses, practical interactive workshops, lectures and panel discussions, experimental labs, concerts and lounges and opportunities for publishers and event organisers to present themselves.
Leading Voices is a perfect event to be organised in cooperation with a music academy, conservatoire or music university. It can function as a kind of summer school programme or extra curricular programm for choral conductors and vocal leaders as well as others working in the field of collective singing, both from the academy, the region and internationally.
